About Benjamin

Benjamin ("Will") Buchholz is an author, Arabic speaker, and U.S. Army officer whose writing inhabits the powerful space where global experience meets expressive, boundary-pushing literary craft. During his 28-year career, he has served throughout the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe, and Africa—Oman, Yemen, the UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Germany, and most recently Djibouti—roles that shape the depth, realism, and cultural insight present in much of his fiction and nonfiction.

Buchholz is the author of four full-length books, ranging from literary fiction to reflective nonfiction. His short stories often experiment with rhythm, sound, and ambiguity—drawing inspiration from writers like Jack Kerouac and William Empson to challenge traditional narrative forms and explore the lyrical edges of language.

His essays and analyses appear in the military’s most prestigious journals, earning recognitions including the LTG Plewes Reserve Writing Award at the U.S. Army War College. Beyond his own writing, Buchholz has partnered with authors across genres as a ghostwriter, developmental editor, and writing mentor, contributing to more than a dozen additional books and long-form projects.

From precise copyediting to comprehensive ghostwriting engagements, Buchholz offers a full range of writing services grounded in craft, clarity, and the belief that every story deserves its best form.
